Jul. 31, 2008 - Lafayette - Ivan Hernandez, Director of Admissions for Ivy Tech Community College, presented at the 23rd Annual ACT Enrollment Planners Conference held in Chicago, IL, on July 9-11. Hernandez’ presentation was titled Recruiting Hispanic Students: Barriers for Us, Barriers for Them. He shared several strategies used by Ivy Tech to promote higher education to its Hispanic community.

Ivy Tech's David Berry participated in a National Endowment for the Humanities workshop.
Wed. Jul. 16, 2008 - Lafayette - David Berry, Chair of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Ivy Tech Community College, participated in a workshop sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities. The workshop was one of six Landmarks of American History and Culture Workshops for community college faculty nationwide. Berry attended “Henry Ford and the History of American Industry, Labor, and Culture,” at Henry Ford Community College, in Dearborn, Michigan, on June 15-20. Selection to attend the workshops is competitive, and participants take part in intensive study with leading scholars.

Ivy Tech student receives national advertising award
Tue. Jul. 15, 2008 - Lafayette - Stefan Delgado, a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College's computer graphic design program, was awarded a silver ADDY during a national awards show held June 10 in Atlanta, GA. The awards competition and show was sponsored by the American Advertising Federation, a national organization of marketing and advertising professionals.

Over 250 Ivy Tech grads will attend commencement ceremony.
Fri. Apr. 11, 2008 - Lafayette - Ivy Tech Community College will hand out associate degrees and technical certificates to 255 graduates during a commencement ceremony to be held May 4 at 2:00 p.m. in Elliott Hall at Purdue. Students who completed or plan to complete the requirements for their degree or certificate during the 2007-2008 academic year were eligible to participate in the ceremony.

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana enters partnership with Follett for management of 27 bookstores statewide
Fri. Mar. 21, 2008 - Indianapolis - Ivy Tech Community College has announced plans to award Follett Higher Education Group an eight-year contract for the management of 27 bookstores throughout the statewide community college system.  The two parties have a letter of intent and are currently working through the contract details for a July 1, 2008 launch.

Thu. Mar. 13, 2008 - Lafayette - Ivy Tech Community College-Lafayette has won two national awards for its marketing efforts from the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations Professionals. The ceremony recognizes the outstanding achievement in communications at community, junior and technical colleges.  It is the only national competition of its kind that exclusively honors excellence among marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges.

Mon. Mar. 10, 2008 - Indianapolis - Ivy Tech Community College has graduated 25 employees from its Ivy Tech Leadership Academy, a program designed specifically to identify future leaders within the College. The program is a cross-discipline program for leadership development and prepares employees for additional leadership responsibilities.
